Newmarket mould testing
Newmarket has two mould stories. On and near Main Street the houses are older — stone, brick, and basements that were never meant to be living rooms. Out toward the newer crescents the problem is often construction moisture, a wet basement after grading issues, or an ensuite fan that was never used.
The Holland River corridor holds humidity. We see window-sill growth and closet mould in houses that sit low or stay shut up in winter. Indoor counts are always read against an outdoor sample taken the same visit, because a river town’s outdoor air is not the same as a dry lot on a windy day.
If a Newmarket home inspection flagged attic mould or a musty basement, we can sample the same day and return a written identification. We identify. We do not tear out drywall.

Species we identify, including black mould, are listed under indoor mould species. People also ask about black mould testing, buying a house, testing after a leak, and what a test costs.
